The reward declaration of wanted terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a resident of Bharsinghpur village in the Phillaur area of ​​Jalandhar, came nearly three weeks after the NIA filed a complaint against him and three others in connection with the attack on the priest.

“Nijjar is wanted by the NIA in connection with a KTF conspiracy to kill a Hindu priest in Jalandhar. Nijjar currently resides in Canada and is the leader of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF),” the federal agency said in a statement. communicated.

He said that Nijjar also promotes a secessionist and violent agenda of Sikhs for justice in India.

“The NIA has declared a cash reward of Rs 10 Lakhs against Nijjar… Any information relating to the fugitive accused leading to his arrest or arrest may be shared… the identity of the informant must be kept secret,” the NIA said. .

The agency shared phone, WhatsApp and telegram numbers for its Delhi headquarters and Chandigarh branch, as well as email addresses for people to provide information about it.

On July 5, the NIA had filed a complaint against four people including Nijjar in connection with a plot to kill Hindu priest Kamaldeep Sharma by KTF in the village of Bhar Singh Pura, Phillaur in Jalandhar on January 31 of the ‘last year.

The NIA took over the case on October 8, 2021.

The other three charged in the case are Kamaljeet Sharma and Ram Singh alias “Sona”, who attacked the priest on the instructions of Nijjar and his associate Arshdeep Singh alias “Prabh”.

According to the NIA, investigations revealed that the entire conspiracy was hatched by defendants Arshdeep and Nijjar, both based in Canada, to disturb the peace and disrupt communal harmony in Punjab by killing a Hindu priest. SKL
