Last second TD by Huskies surprises Montreal Carabins at Uteck Bowl

The Montreal Carabins were defeated by the Saskatchewan Huskies 14-10 in the closing seconds of the Uteck Bowl on Saturday in Montreal.

The Huskies will advance to the Vanier Cup with a 13-yard touchdown from running back Adam with five seconds left.

Saskatchewan was trailing the entire game when Machart scored his second of two touchdowns in the second half to allow the Huskies to win their first Vanier Cup since 2006. Machart ran 158 yards on 20 carries.

Huskies quarterback Mason Nyhus threw for 136 yards and a touchdown that day.

Montreal quarterback Jonathan Sénécal completed 31 of 41 attempted passes for 398 yards.

Hassane Dosso of the Carabins had 10 catches for 182 yards and Dimitri Morard rushed for the lone touchdown for Montreal, while Michael Arpin scored two baskets and a pair of reds.

Saskatchewan kicker David Solie had a red and an extra point in the win.

The Huskies will face the Western Mustangs on December 4 in Quebec City for the Vanier Cup.

The Mustangs defeated Atlantic champions St. Francis Xavier 61-6 at the Mitchell Bowl Saturday afternoon in London, Ont.
